Lamine Yamal Out for Season with Hamstring Injury

FC Barcelona announced that 18-year-old Lamine Yamal will be sidelined for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred while he was scoring a penalty in Barcelona's 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo.

A statement released on Thursday indicated that club medical tests revealed the injury is specifically to the bicep femoris muscle in his left leg. Yamal will undergo conservative treatment as part of his recovery plan.

As a result of this injury, he will miss the remaining La Liga fixtures, which are crucial for Barcelona's title defense. Notably, he will also be absent from the highly anticipated clash against rivals Real Madrid, scheduled for May 10.

Despite this setback, Barcelona expressed optimism regarding Yamal's recovery timeline, which is expected to align with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
