Basiru Urges APC Members to Support Adeleke in Osun

Senator Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), instructed members of his political structure, the Alubarika Group, to collaborate with Governor Ademola Adeleke under a new political arrangement in Osun State. Basiru conveyed this directive during a meeting in Osogbo.

He emphasized the necessity of collaboration due to Adeleke's electoral strength and his role as the coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in the state. Despite this directive, tensions within the APC were evident as key figures, including Minister Adegboyega Oyetola and the party's 2026 governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, were absent from the inauguration of the 344-member Tinubu campaign council.

The state APC expressed dissatisfaction over not being properly consulted, viewing the arrangement as a potential source of discord. Basiru urged party members to set aside differences to support both President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke, stressing that their ambitions should not overshadow the goal of ensuring Tinubu's re-election.
