Bassey Withdraws from Super Eagles Friendlies Due to Injury

Calvin Bassey has officially withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan due to a back injury. The Nigeria National Football Team confirmed this statement on Wednesday.

Bassey, who primarily plays as a central back, will miss the matches as the team continues its preparations in Turkey. The Super Eagles are currently in a training camp in Antalya, where they have a total of 21 players, with six additional players arriving on Wednesday morning to bolster the squad.

The initial wave of arrivals included players such as Fisayo Bashiru, Alex Iwobi, and Emmanuel Oluwasegun. The team is set to face Iran on Friday and Jordan on March 31 in Antalya, with the matches being relocated due to security concerns in the Middle East.
