APC's Yilwatda Reveals Cash Transfer Beneficiaries Lack Phones

Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed that more than 10 million vulnerable Nigerians who received the Federal Government's N75,000 conditional cash transfer do not have mobile phones or access to social media. This statement was made during a press conference following a three-day retreat of the APC’s National Executive Council in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Yilwatda defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, citing achievements in road construction, student loans, and humanitarian interventions funded by savings from the removal of the fuel subsidy. He stated that the party is prepared for the 2027 general election, having passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

The NEC also directed state chapters to establish reconciliation committees to unify the party. Yilwatda extended condolences to Niger State for the deaths of 37 miners, expressing the party's solidarity with the affected families.
