Benin Republic Interior Minister Reveals Details of Thwarted Coup Attempt

Benin Republic's Interior Minister, Alassane Seidou, disclosed that a group of soldiers led by Colonel Pascal Tigré attempted a coup to oust President Talon, but the army thwarted the plot. The soldiers, calling themselves the Military Committee for the Refoundation of the State (CMR), were arrested.

President Talon, who has been in power for 10 years, is set to step down in April. The army regained control, ensuring the safety of the president and his entourage.
