Benue APC Panel Clears 11 Disqualified Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress (APC) panel in Benue State has approved the return of 11 out of 50 aspirants who were initially disqualified from contesting in the House of Assembly primaries. This decision was made after the appeal committee, led by Abubakar Lawal, reviewed 50 appeals submitted by aspirants dissatisfied with the initial screening results.

The committee's findings were disclosed in a statement by the state organizing secretary, Jame Ornguga, on Thursday. The successful aspirants are now allowed to move forward to the primaries, while the status of the remaining 39 aspirants, whose disqualifications were upheld due to non-compliance with party guidelines, remains unclear.

The initial disqualifications were made by the Makurdi APC screening committee, which cited breaches of party rules among the 148 aspirants contesting for seats in the Benue State House of Assembly.
