Benue Governor Alia Lauds Senate for State Police Bill

Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia praised the Nigerian Senate for the passage of the State Police Bill, describing it as a significant advancement in strengthening security measures to tackle insecurity throughout Nigeria. In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Alia emphasized that the establishment of a state police force alongside the Nigeria Police Force marks a major breakthrough in efforts to improve national security architecture.

He noted that state police would have a better understanding of local communities, cultures, and terrains, enabling quicker and more effective responses to emerging security threats. Alia commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to reforms aimed at enhancing Nigeria's security framework.

He expressed optimism that the legislation would substantially improve public safety and assured residents of Benue State that his administration would continue to prioritize security initiatives to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development across the state and the country.
