Benue Govt Takes Over Renovation Of NUJ Secretariat, Donates N12m For Dues Clearance

Benue Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has taken over the renovation of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Makurdi, which was built 30 years ago. He announced this during the flagging off the distribution of Terena palm seedlings at the secretariat.

Governor Alia also approved the release of N12 million to clear outstanding dues owed to the national secretariat by the Benue State Council. He promised to address the issue of allowances for state media workers and emphasized the importance of agriculture, urging the people of Benue to embrace the palm tree planting scheme.

The NUJ Chairman commended the governor's leadership and efforts in infrastructural development, security restoration, and digital revolution within the state.
