Berekum Chelsea Winger Dominic Frimpong Killed in Robbery

On April 12, 2023, Dominic Frimpong, a 20-year-old winger for Berekum Chelsea, was tragically killed in an armed robbery attack. The incident occurred while he was traveling back to Ghana for a Premier League fixture against FC Samartex.

Gunmen reportedly blocked the vehicle along the Bibiani-Goaso road and opened fire, causing panic among the player and staff, who fled into nearby bushes. Frimpong sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Bibiani Government Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Berekum Chelsea released a statement expressing shock over Frimpong's death and extended condolences to his family. The Ghana Football Association also confirmed the news and expressed their sorrow regarding the incident.
