Boko Haram Releases 360 Hostages After Military Rescue

Boko Haram has released 360 individuals, including women and children, who were abducted during a mass kidnapping on March 3. The incident occurred during Ramadan, with gunfire reported near a military base, leading to casualties and significant property destruction.

The military's Operation Hadin Kai, under the command of Lt. Col.

Haruna Sani, conducted a successful rescue operation based on credible intelligence. The operation involved meticulous planning and coordination, isolating the area to prevent insurgent reinforcements.

The troops faced challenges due to the difficult terrain of Mandara Mountain, where the hostages were held. Despite the successful rescue, two infants succumbed to exhaustion during captivity.

The military commended the personnel involved for their courage and professionalism. Freed victims reported being given the option to either return to their families or remain with the insurgents before being rescued and transported to safety in Pulka.
