Boko Haram Threatens Execution of 176 Abductees in Kwara

Boko Haram has issued a grave ultimatum threatening to execute 176 abducted women and children from Woro in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State within one week if the Nigerian government does not meet their demands. Salihu Bio, the traditional ruler of the community and husband of one of the captives, confirmed the threat to journalists on Monday.

He explained that the terrorists communicated their intentions during a Jumu'ah prayer session on Friday, expressing frustration over the government's inaction. The captors have reportedly allowed contact with some family members, indicating that they are teaching the abductees Arabic and Islamic knowledge.

The terrorists have threatened to marry off the girls and kill those they consider liabilities if no agreement is reached by the deadline. A video released by the armed militants claimed responsibility for the abduction, stating that they have invested resources in feeding the captives without any progress in negotiations.

Efforts to obtain an official response from the police have been unsuccessful.
