Big Loss For PDP as Former Governorship Candidate Resigns, Gives Reason

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Senator Isa Galaudu, has resigned from the party citing recent developments as the reason. Galaudu's resignation, effective immediately, was confirmed through a formal letter submitted to the ward chairman on Sunday, August 20, 2025.

Galaudu, a former chief of staff to Senate President Bukola Saraki, is considered a significant political figure in Kebbi State and was a strong contender in the 2019 governorship election. While there is no indication of which political party Galaudu intends to join ahead of the 2027 election, his resignation adds to a series of high-profile exits from the PDP.

This includes former deputy governor Ude Oko Chukwu, who recently left the party, sparking speculation of endorsing Governor Alex Otti's bid. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also resigned from the PDP, submitting his letter on July 14, and is reportedly considering.
