Dangote Prioritizes Daughters Over Male Heir, Confirms Philanthropy

Aliko Dangote, the 69-year-old President of Dangote Industries Limited, stated in an interview with Arise News that he does not prioritize having a male child, expressing contentment with his three daughters: Mariya, Halima, and Fatima. He emphasized that the matter of having children is ultimately controlled by God and that a male child does not guarantee the continuation of a family name.

Dangote remarked, “I don’t think a son would have done better than the three daughters I have.” Additionally, he confirmed an agreement to allocate one-third of his wealth to philanthropy after his death, a plan previously mentioned by his daughter Halima, a trustee of the Aliko Dangote Foundation. This arrangement has been formally documented to ensure that the designated portion of his estate will benefit the foundation.

Dangote also provided advice to young people, encouraging hard work, consistency, and focus in their pursuits.
