Dr. Allen Onyema: Transforming Nigeria's Aviation Industry

Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, the Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, is recognized for his significant contributions to Nigeria's aviation industry.

Air Peace commenced operations on October 24, 2014, with just seven aircraft, and has grown to become Nigeria's largest airline, operating a modern fleet of 38 aircraft, including four wide-body Boeing 777 jets. The airline achieved a remarkable milestone by launching direct flights from Lagos to London Gatwick on March 30, 2024, breaking a long-standing high fare barrier for Nigerian travelers.

Following this, a direct flight from Abuja to London Heathrow was introduced on October 26, 2025. Onyema's vision extends beyond profit, as he emphasizes safety and adherence to global aviation standards, achieving membership in the International Air Transport Association within two years of operation.

His leadership has not only enhanced Nigeria's aviation capabilities but also provided employment opportunities and boosted tourism and trade.
