Blessing CEO Apologizes on Instagram After Son's Death

Nkiru Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, posted a tearful video on her Instagram on November 3, 2026, following the death of her nine-year-old son, Brian, who died from an asthma attack. At the time of his passing, Blessing CEO was remanded at Kirikiri Prison due to a property fraud charge and was unable to meet her bail conditions, which prevented her from being present.

In the emotional video, she expressed feelings of being broken and mentally exhausted, and she apologized for previously speaking carelessly about pain she had not personally experienced. She compared her situation to the biblical prodigal son, stating her intention to start afresh after learning hard lessons.

Blessing CEO addressed her late son affectionately, promising to honor his memory by correcting her past wrongs. She revealed that both she and her mother had been privately grieving and that she broke down after witnessing her mother's tears that morning.
