Bank of Agriculture Wins Agricultural Finance Award 2026

The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has been recognized as the Agricultural Finance Institution of the Year at the 2026 BusinessDay BAFI Awards. This award acknowledges BOA's efforts to improve access to agricultural financing and strengthen Nigeria's agricultural value chain.

Under the leadership of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ayo Sotinrin, the Bank has implemented reforms aimed at enhancing corporate governance and operational efficiency. BOA has onboarded over 400,000 farmers across more than 20 states through the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund (RH-SSVCF), targeting two million smallholder farmers nationwide.

Additionally, the ₦200 billion Guaranteed Minimum Price (GMP) Programme, launched in September 2026, aims to stabilize markets and provide a buyer of last resort for eligible commodities. The programme targets the aggregation of 400,000 metric tonnes of grains and aims to impact approximately 11.5 million households.

The award signifies a milestone in BOA's commitment to improving farmers' productivity and enhancing rural livelihoods.
