Nigerian Navy Rescues Seven Survivors in Bayelsa Mishap

On a recent date, the Nigerian Navy conducted a successful rescue operation in Bayelsa State, saving seven survivors from a boat mishap that occurred in the Ogboinbiri waterway within the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. The incident involved a collision between a Tantita patrol boat and a wooden market boat.

Following a distress call, the naval authorities were alerted, and Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, confirmed that personnel from the Nigerian Navy Ship NN Soroh were promptly deployed to the scene. The rapid response led to the successful evacuation of the seven victims, who were then taken to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.

The ongoing search efforts aim to locate any missing persons. The Nigerian Navy emphasized that this operation reflects its commitment to maritime security and the protection of lives within Nigeria's waters, as highlighted by Vice Admiral Idi Abba, the Chief of Naval Staff.
