Boat mishap: PDP condoles with families of victims in Sokoto as 25 remain missing

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of a recent boat accident on the Kojiyo River in Goronyo Local Government Area, where 25 individuals remain missing. In a statement released by the party's Publicity Secretary, Hassan Sanyinnawal, the PDP called for intensified rescue operations and urgent support for the affected families.

The party emphasized the need for safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future and pledged to collaborate with relevant agencies to assist the victims' families. The boat, carrying 51 passengers and goods, capsized on Sunday, with 26 individuals rescued so far.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the ongoing search for the remaining missing passengers. The PDP assured the people of Sokoto State of solidarity and support during this difficult time.
