Stanlei Boateng Joins D’Tigress as Assistant Coach

Stanlei Boateng has been appointed as the assistant coach for Nigeria's senior women's basketball team, D’Tigress, as part of efforts to strengthen the technical crew ahead of the upcoming international engagements. Boateng will collaborate with the team's head coach, Rena Wakama, in a strategic move to bolster the squad's preparation for major competitions.

Currently, the reigning African champions are training in the United States as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup. This training tour is expected to provide the team with high-level exposure through competitive matches.

D’Tigress is scheduled to face top women's basketball associations in friendly matches against teams such as the Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx, and Indiana Fever during this tour. The draw for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup will take place in Berlin, Germany, on Tuesday, and the outcome will determine Nigeria's group stage opponents as the team intensifies its preparations for the global tournament.
