BoI Disburses N27bn, Wins Awards for Sustainable Projects

The Bank of Industry (BoI) has announced the disbursement of N27 billion to eight businesses and has received dual awards recognizing its achievements in financing sustainable projects. The bank was awarded the Best Sustainable Deal in Africa for its role in the Nigeria Distributed Access Renewable Energy Scale (DARE) project, which aims to enhance electricity access in underserved communities through solar mini-grids.

Additionally, BoI received the Best Social Development Deal in Africa award for its Women Glow program, which supports women entrepreneurs by providing affordable financing, mentorship, and market access. According to BoI's 2025 Annual Development Impact Report, the DARE project, implemented in partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and supported by a $750 million credit facility from the International Development Association (IDA) and the World Bank, has achieved a 100% financing record.
