Bank of Industry Wins Sustainable Bank Award 2026

The Bank of Industry (BOI) was honored with the Sustainable Bank of the Year award at the 20th edition of the African Banker Awards 2026, held alongside the African Development Bank's annual meeting in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. This accolade reinforces BOI's reputation as a leading player in sustainable finance and responsible banking across Africa.

Competing against notable financial institutions such as Commercial International Bank (CIB) of Egypt, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, Nedbank of South Africa, and Rawbank of the Democratic Republic of Congo, BOI emerged as the clear winner in a highly competitive category. Dr.

Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOI, described the award as a validation of the bank's long-term vision for sustainable economic development. The recognition reflects BOI's strategic commitment to embedding sustainability in its operations and financial activities, particularly through its Sustainable Finance Framework (SFF).
