BoI moves to revive Kaduna textiles, others

Bank of Industry (BoI) has announced plans to revive the textile industry in Kaduna as part of a larger initiative to boost the Cotton Garment Sector (CTG). During an inspection tour of key textile sites in Kaduna State, Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, and Managing Executive Officer of BoI, Olasupo Olusi, discussed the economic revitalization efforts.

Olusi highlighted the potential for job creation within the factory and across the value chain, from basic cotton farmers to production workers. Minister Enoh described the revival of the United Nigeria Textiles Limited (UNTL) as a litmus test for broader industrial revival in the country.

The federal government sees this as a significant opportunity to stimulate job creation and improve livelihoods in various sectors.
