BOI Aims for N1.85 Trillion Lending and 3 Million Jobs by 2027

The Bank of Industry (BOI) has set ambitious targets to create and sustain three million jobs and increase its annual lending to N1.85 trillion by 2027. Managing Director Olasupo Olusi announced these goals on October 22, 2026, during a media engagement in Lagos.
The targets are part of BOI's 2025–2027 corporate strategy, which aims to double its loan portfolio, disbursements, and development impact, with a focus on sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, local healthcare, climate-friendly businesses, and technology-driven enterprises. The strategy is structured around six thematic areas, with 2025 as the foundation year, 2026 for execution and expansion, and 2027 for consolidating results.
BOI plans to allocate 35% of its funding to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), 15% to women-owned businesses, and 20% of MSME financing to youth-led enterprises. Additionally, at least 10% of its loan portfolio will be dedicated to climate-related investments.
