Omokri Urges Atiku to Respect President Tinubu Properly

Reno Omokri, the Nigerian ambassador-designate to Mexico, criticized Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, for referring to President Bola Tinubu simply as "Bola" during a press conference. Omokri stated that this lack of formality disrespects the office of the President and reflects poorly on Nigeria internationally.

He urged Atiku to apologize to Tinubu, emphasizing that addressing the President with the respect due to his office is essential for demonstrating good judgment and leadership temperament. Omokri pointed out that Atiku had never referred to former President Olusegun Obasanjo merely by his first name, even during criticisms, highlighting that Obasanjo had previously declared Atiku's office as Vice President vacant.

He noted that Tinubu had supported Atiku during challenging times, contrasting this with Atiku's disrespectful reference to him.
