Bride Killed in Borno During Soldiers' Clash with Boko Haram

In Borno, a bride named Deborah Usman was tragically killed by a stray bullet during an exchange of gunfire between soldiers and Boko Haram insurgents. The incident occurred around 2:14 AM when insurgents attacked the military base in Kofa and subsequently targeted the Muna area.

Reports indicate that three residents were killed due to crossfire. Deborah, who was three weeks into her marriage, was struck in the head and died instantly.

The military, specifically the Joint Task Force North East under Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the attack and reported that they successfully repelled multiple infiltration attempts by the insurgents. Captain Moham Goni stated that the troops engaged the insurgents with accurate firepower, thwarting their efforts to infiltrate the metropolitan area.

The situation remains stable as troops conduct clearance operations to prevent further threats to nearby communities.
