Borno State Reinforces Peace with Boko Haram Reintegration

The Borno State Government has successfully reintegrated 720 repentant Boko Haram members, along with 992 spouses and 2,050 children, into society. This initiative was announced during an event in Maiduguri, attended by Governor Babagana Zulum and Brigadier General Abdullahi Ishaq (rtd).

The program aims to disarm, rehabilitate, and provide various skills to these individuals, who willingly surrendered to military forces. The state government has committed to providing starter packs to support their post-camp life.

The reintegration process is part of a broader effort, with a total of 350,000 individuals reportedly willing to exit the bush and embrace peace. The initiative has been praised by community leaders and is seen as a significant step towards deradicalization and community service.

The program is structured to ensure proper documentation and profiling of the participants as they transition back into society.
