BPE Plans IPO for Electricity Companies in Stock Market Listing

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) plans to list two electricity distribution companies (DisCos) and one generation company (GenCo) on the stock market through an Initial Public Offering (IPO). BPE Director General Ayodeji Gbeleyi revealed the intention to take these power sector companies public during a briefing in Abuja.

The names of the specific companies involved remain confidential to maintain corporate secrecy. The IPO process is part of efforts to enhance the electricity sector's performance and attract investment.

BPE also mentioned the shareholder loan agreements recently signed with 10 out of 11 DisCos, with disbursements set to begin soon to support the privatization process.
