Court Halts PDP's National Convention Amid Legal Dispute

The Federal High Court in Abuja has once again halted the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting its national convention following an order issued by Justice Peter Lifu in response to an application filed by former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido. The court ruled that the convention should not proceed until a main suit is fully determined.

This legal battle has led to a delay in the party's reorganization plans ahead of the 2023 elections, exacerbating its internal leadership crisis. Earlier, a similar order was granted by Justice James Omotosho, further prolonging the party's legal woes.
