Court Halts PDP National Convention Amid Lawsuit by Sule Lamido

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Peter Lifu, has halted the People's Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention slated for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. This decision came after a lawsuit filed by former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, represented by Jephthah Chikodi Njikony SAN, alleging denial of access to nomination forms required to contest for the position of national chairman.

The court directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to supervise or participate in any activities related to the convention until the issues raised by Lamido are addressed. This ruling follows a similar injunction granted by Justice James Omotoso on October 31.

The court adjourned the case to November 11 for further hearing.
