APC Secures Two-Thirds Majority in House of Representatives, Strengthens Position

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has attained a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives following defections from six lawmakers of opposition parties during a plenary session. This development increases the APC's strength in the house to 242 members, while the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is left with 74 lawmakers.

The defections were attributed to leadership crises within the PDP and were marked by a ceremony attended by prominent figures including APC's national chairman and Enugu State governor. The move signifies a significant political shift in the legislative landscape.
