Rano Air Suspends Routes Amid 300% Fuel Cost Surge

Rano Air has announced the suspension of certain flight routes following a dramatic 300% increase in the cost of aviation fuel, which has rendered operations commercially unsustainable. The airline disclosed this information in a statement posted on its official channels on Friday.

Although specific affected destinations were not listed, sources indicate that routes to Maiduguri and Gombe are among those impacted. Rano Air currently operates flights to Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Katsina, Bauchi, and Osubi in Delta State.

The airline has temporarily suspended half of its routes pending a final management decision. This decision comes as Rano Air assesses the rise in operational costs, emphasizing that safety remains its top priority.

The airline has assured passengers that arrangements for refunds, rescheduling, and rerouting will be made for those already booked on affected flights. Rano Air expressed regret over the disruption and aims to resume full operations once conditions improve and services become economically viable.
