Ex-Power Minister Saleh Mamman Sentenced to 75 Years

On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Nigeria, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, sentenced former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman to 75 years in prison for corruption related to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects. Mamman was convicted on 12 counts of charges, with the prison term set to run consecutively, totaling 75 years.

Justice Omotosho ordered that Mamman's jail term commence immediately upon his arrest. The court also directed security agencies to apprehend Mamman wherever he may be found.

Additionally, the ruling mandated the forfeiture of Mamman's properties to the federal government and the recovery of an outstanding balance of approximately N22 billion linked to the projects.
