DHQ Directs Protesting Ex-Soldiers to Leave Finance Ministry Premises

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) ordered protesting ex-soldiers at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja to vacate the premises. The retired soldiers were demonstrating against the government's alleged failure to pay their entitlements.

DHQ clarified that the protesters' gratuity and allowance calculations were based on the wage chart applicable at the time of their retirement. Director of Defence Media Operations Markus Kangye emphasized the need for the veterans to allow government activities to continue smoothly.

The protesting soldiers were urged to vacate the area and exercise caution in their demonstrations.
