Defence Headquarters Warns Retired Soldiers to Leave Finance Ministry

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters issued a warning to retired soldiers protesting at the Ministry of Finance premises, urging them to vacate the area. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Markus Kangye, emphasized that while the military respected the veterans' right to protest, their actions were disrupting government activities and lacked merit.

The protest stemmed from discrepancies in the calculation of soldiers' gratuity and allowances following the implementation of a new minimum wage. Kangye advised the protesters to proceed with caution and seek resolution through appropriate channels to avoid further disruptions.
