EFCC Arrests Mike Ozekhome Over Property Fraud Allegations

Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to allegations of involvement in a property dispute concerning a property located at 79 Randal Avenue, London, United Kingdom. The EFCC's action follows a recent ruling by the Federal Capital Territory High Court, which dismissed forgery charges against Ozekhome.

The controversy centers around claims made by Tali Shani regarding ownership of the property, which Ozekhome allegedly received as a gift from Shani in 2021. However, the tribunal found that the documents presented by Shani were fake, leading to the dismissal of her claim.

The EFCC has filed fresh charges against Ozekhome, including allegations of using a falsified Nigerian passport to support the property claim. The charges also involve conspiracy and forgery, with specific references to actions taken between 2020 and 2021.
