Governor Mohammed Defies Wike's PDP Demands, Vows Convention Will Proceed

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has stood firm against the demands of the camp led by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mohammed rejected the conditions set by Wike's faction, emphasizing that the PDP's national convention scheduled for November in Ibadan will proceed as planned.

The governor, also the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, asserted that the party will not succumb to threats and factional pressures. This stance follows a communique issued by a group loyal to Wike, warning that the convention would be invalid unless their demands were met.

Mohammed emphasized the importance of consensus and unity within the party.
