PDP Governors Send Fresh Message to Wike, Others as Details of Zamfara Meeting Emerge

Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have issued a warning to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and other dissenting members, cautioning that their actions could disrupt the party's upcoming national convention. The governors, who met at the Zamfara State Government House on August 23, 2025, reaffirmed their commitment to the resolutions of the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) reached in July, which endorsed the convention scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a communiqué, the governors urged members to resist any attempts to undermine the convention, emphasizing the PDP's credibility as a democratic institution capable of leading Nigeria towards good governance and development. The meeting, chaired by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, also highlighted the need for unity within the party to overcome defections and internal disputes.
