Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, has refuted claims of his involvement in a coup plot following a raid on his Abuja residence. His spokesperson, Julius Bokoru, dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.

Sylva, a former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, emphasized his dedication to democracy and support for President Bola Tinubu. The raid on Sylva's home resulted in significant property damage, with his wife reportedly out of the country during the incident.

The statement aims to counter smear campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
