Timipre Sylva Denies Involvement in Alleged Coup Plot Against Tinubu Government

Timipre Sylva, a former Minister of State for Petroleum and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, has refuted claims of being part of a failed coup to oust President Bola Tinubu's administration. His spokesperson, Julius Bokoru, dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically driven by desperate politicians aiming to tarnish Sylva's image ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sylva, known for his democratic principles, has been actively engaged in politics within the confines of the law. Recent security operations at his Abuja residence were clarified as routine, with his wife abroad for medical reasons.

The Defense Headquarters also debunked the coup rumors, emphasizing Sylva's lack of involvement in any plot against the federal government.
