FG Declares Friday Public Holiday to Celebrate Prophet Muhammad's Birth

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi.

The government extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and worldwide, emphasizing the virtues of peace, love, humility, and compassion taught by the Prophet. Nigerians of all faiths are encouraged to pray for peace, security, and national harmony.
