Former PDP Chairman Bamanga Tukur Passes Away at 90

Alhaji Bamanga Mohammed Tukur, the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-Minister of Industries, has passed away at the age of 90. His family announced his death in a statement, indicating he "returned to his Creator" on Saturday.

The statement, signed by his son, Hon. Awwal D. Tukur, described him as a patriarch who led a distinguished life of service to his family, community, Adamawa State, and Nigeria.

The family emphasized Tukur's wisdom, generosity, and commitment to Nigeria's development, asserting that his legacy would endure for generations. They expressed appreciation for the prayers and condolences received and stated that details regarding funeral prayers and burial arrangements would be announced later.

Tukur, who would have turned 91 on September 15, was the president of the Africa Business Roundtable in 2012 and served as the National Chairman of the PDP from March 2012 to January 2014. He also held the position of Minister of Industries during General Sani Abacha's military regime.
