Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has refuted claims of withdrawing from the 2027 presidential race, labeling such reports as false and misleading. Atiku clarified that a recent interview with the BBC Hausa Service was misrepresented, emphasizing that he never implied stepping down for anyone.

He expressed his readiness to compete in the presidential race and support young aspirants. Atiku's media adviser, Paul Ibe, criticized the misinterpretation of Atiku's statements, cautioning against stretching journalistic interpretations beyond acceptable limits.

The clarification aimed to address the inaccurate portrayal of Atiku's intentions regarding the upcoming presidential election.
