IPOB Suspends Nnamdi Kanu, Appoints New Leadership

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) announced the indefinite suspension of Nnamdi Kanu from his leadership role during a full house meeting held on Wednesday. This decision was made in response to concerns regarding Kanu's activities while incarcerated in Sokoto prison.

Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, who signed the statement, has been appointed as the new head of the state administration, overseeing the movement's leadership. The suspension aims to prevent unauthorized individuals from committing crimes and to mitigate reckless actions that could lead to unnecessary arrests and deaths among IPOB members.

The statement clarified that no single individual can dissolve the directorate, and the group will not be held accountable for actions taken by individuals outside of its leadership structure. Kanu's previous administration, which began in 2012, has seen various leadership changes, with the last being the appointment of the 3rd administration in March 2017.
