Jim Ovia Retires as Zenith Bank Chairman After 12 Years

Jim Ovia has officially retired as the chairman of Zenith Bank, a position he held since July 16, 2014. His retirement follows the completion of his mandatory 12-year term as a non-executive director, in compliance with corporate governance guidelines issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Ovia previously served as the bank's founder, group managing director, and CEO from 1990 to 2010. The announcement of his retirement was made on Tuesday during the bank's ongoing 35th annual general meeting.
