Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Officially Joins APC, Cites Need for Closer Federal Government Collaboration

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after defecting from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP). The announcement was made at a ceremony in Kano, attended by notable figures including former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Minister of State for Housing Yusuf Ata, and senior APC leader Bola Tinubu.

Yusuf cited the need to collaborate closely with the federal government and APC leadership, particularly President Bola Tinubu, as his reason for rejoining the party. He had earlier resigned from the NNPP along with several members of the Kano State House of Assembly and House of Representatives.

The move is seen as strategic ahead of the 2023 elections.
