BREAKING: PDP Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to South

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the zoning of the 2027 presidential ticket to the South during its 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja. The decision, following the recommendation of the Zoning Committee chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, was confirmed by PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba.

The NEC also endorsed the retention of the current zoning arrangement ahead of the party's elective convention in November. The party expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation for the convention and emphasized the principle of power rotation.

The communique released at the end of the meeting outlined the zoning formula for key party positions between the Northern and Southern regions. Notably, the Southern region has already been allotted positions in three geopolitical zones.
