Security Agents Attempt to Arrest Nasir El-Rufai at Abuja Airport

Security agents reportedly tried to arrest Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja upon his return from Cairo, Egypt. El-Rufai's media advisor, Muyiwa Adekeye, confirmed the incident, stating that the security agents approached El-Rufai upon disembarkation but he refused to comply without a formal invitation.

The former governor's passport was seized during the encounter. Adekeye's statement highlighted that El-Rufai insisted on a formal invitation before cooperating with the security personnel.

The exact reason for the attempted arrest remains undisclosed.
