Senate Screens Bola Tinubu's Nominee for INEC Chairman

The Nigerian Senate has started the screening process for Prof. Joash Amupitan, the nominee for the position of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), put forward by Bola Tinubu.

Amupitan appeared before the Senate committee at the National Assembly, accompanied by Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and other dignitaries. The screening exercise began following opening remarks by Senate President Abubakar Lado and Senator Godswil Akpabio.

The confirmation process for the next INEC Chairman is underway.
