Sowore Leads Protest Against Wike's Alleged Land Grab

On Saturday, Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and activist, led a significant protest in Abuja against Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The protest was sparked by allegations that the FCT administration was involved in a controversial land grab at Jabi Park, a public space in the capital.

Hundreds of demonstrators marched through the streets carrying placards with messages such as "Save Jabi Lake" and "Stop Land Grab Abuja," demanding transparency in the land allocation process. Protesters accused Wike and President Bola Tinubu's administration of enabling the alleged illegal takeover of public land.

They urged authorities to immediately halt any actions regarding the land and emphasized the need to protect public spaces, particularly around Jabi Lake and Jabi Park. The protest highlighted growing concerns over land allocation practices in Nigeria's capital.
