Tinubu Appoints Prof. Segun Aina as JAMB Registrar

President Bola Tinubu appointed Prof. Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to succeed Prof.

Haq Oloyede, whose two-term tenure is set to expire on July 31, 2026. The announcement was made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Thursday.

The president expects Prof. Aina to leverage his vast experience and knowledge to enhance the operations of the board and to achieve significant educational reforms.

Prof. Aina, who will turn 40 in July, is recognized as one of Nigeria's youngest computer engineering professors and has a distinguished academic background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, a Master’s in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University in the UK.

He has over 15 years of post-graduate experience and has consulted for various examination bodies, including NECO and NABTEB, and has been involved in educational reforms at federal and state levels.
